F1 tornado touches down & strikes rural area, destroys lumberyard & greenhouses
This tornado touched down at 6:15pm, tearing through and destroying a lumberyard and several greenhouses. Trees were also snapped and uprooted along what was described as ‘an obvious path of damage’.
This was one of two tornadoes to touch down in Eastern Ontario on August 4; the other was an F1 at Carp. A third tornado also touched down just east of there at Aylmer, an F3 that damaged and destroyed hundreds of homes through the town.
