Warwick, ON F0 Tornado of June 8, 2008

Sarnia - Lambton


This tornado was observed passing near Highway 402, about 40 kilometres east of Sarnia, through fields without producing damage. This was one of two tornadoes that touched down in Southwestern Ontario on June 8; the other was an F1 near Clandeboye.

Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 5:00 pm EDT, which shows an ongoing squall line in Michigan, which is moving east towards Ontario. This line of thunderstorms was responsible for an F0 and F1 tornado in southwestern Ontario in the early evening hours of June 8th.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F0 tornado touched down at 6:02 pm near Warwick, ON. The path and width of the tornado was not documented by ECCC. The tornado caused no fatalities , injuries or property damage.
