Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 2:00 am EDT, which shows a a warm front across the northeast United States. This warm front would have lifted north-northeast throughout the day and became the focus for intense thunderstorms throughout the afternoon hours of May 19th, which ultimately led to this tornado.

The Lawrence, MA F0 tornado of May 19, 1964 impacted Essex County in Massachusetts. According to NOAA (2019), the F0 tornado caused no fatalities or injuries, but caused $2.5 thousand dollars in property damage. The tornado touched down in Essex County in Lawrence at 4:25 pm EDT. The tornado travelled for 0.1 miles and had a maximum width of 300 yards.
