Powerful tornado tracks 17km through Southern Grey County
The second tornado to touch down on May 31, 1985 occurred at approximately 4:10pm near the hamlet of Maple Lane, 3 concessions SW of Hopeville. A number of barns and other outbuildings were destroyed along the 17km path the tornado took on the south side of the community. The tornado was the first of 5 produced by the infamous “northern supercell” on this date.
