Clearwater Lake, MB F0 Tornado of August 10, 1988

The Pas - Wanless - Westray - Clearwater Lake


Figure 1 shows the surface observations at 4:00 pm CDT, which shows a trough of low pressure moving south across central Manitoba with an ongoing thunderstorm over The Pas. It is likely that a line of storms developed ahead of the trough, which ultimately resulted in this brief tornado near Clearwater Lake.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F0 tornado touched down at 5:20 pm CDT near Clearwater Lake, MB. The track and width of the tornado was not documented by ECCC. The tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage.
