Swan River, MB F0 Tornado of June 17, 2003

Swan River - Duck Mountain - Porcupine


Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 7:00 pm CDT, which shows a a cold front moving across central Manitoba. This front became the focus for thunderstorms in the evening hours of June 17th, which ultimately led to this tornado.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F0 tornado touched down at 7:45 pm CDT near Swan River, MB. The path and width of the tornado was not documented by ECCC. The tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage.
