The Mount Olive-Woodbridge Tornado

Small but vigorous tornado damages neighbourhoods, buildings under construction

The second of three tornadoes to affect the Vaughan area at 3:30pm on May 2, 1983, this strong F0 began east of Highway 27 and south of Highway 50. Several houses had parts of their roofs ripped off, and two factories under construction on Hanlan Road collapsed when they were struck. Trees and TV antennas were downed as well in the area. This tornado likely skipped along for about 6km to the northeast before lifting off near the Highway 7 and 400 interchange.
