Strathroy, ON F1 Tornado of June 15, 1982

This tornado touched down about 4 km south of Strathroy near the crossroads of Cairngorm. Seen as a funnel-shaped cloud by at least one local, it traveled east across the 9th, 8th, and 7th concessions of Caradoc Township where it caused damage to at least 6 properties. This included a shed blown down, pool damaged, trailer overturned, shingles off houses, TV aerials knocked down, and many uprooted or broken trees. It maintained a width between 10-20 m and was on the ground for about 4.3 km before lifting off around Highway 81.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F1 tornado developed south of Strathroy, ON at 7:00 pm EDT. The tornado traveled for 4.3 km and had a maximum width of 20 metres. The tornado caused no injuries, fatality or property damage.
