This probable tornado struck in the evening at around 6:00 pm, passing near the community of Echo Bay at the top of Lake Huron, to the east of Sault Ste Marie. It uprooted and snapped trees, caused minor roof damage to a home which had some shingles torn off, and it tore part of a roof off of a warehouse at a tractor dealership. The path of sporadic damage was 7 km long and 200m wide.
Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 5:00 pm EDT, which shows a stationary front over Sault Ste. Marie. This front was the focus of thunderstorms in the evening hours of June 6th, which ultimately led to this tornado.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F0 tornado touched down at 6:00 pm near Laird, ON. The tornado travelled for 7 km and had a maximum width of 210 metres. The tornado caused no fatalities or injuries, but caused $100 thousand dollars in property damage.
