Bellingham, MA F0 Tornado of June 30, 2001

Norfolk County


Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 8:00 am EDT, which shows a cold front moving across northern Ontario and a warm front moving away from Massachusetts. The cold front moved southeast throughout the day and triggered storms across Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties in the afternoon, which ultimately led to this tornado.

The Bellingham, MA F0 tornado of June 30, 2001 impacted Norfolk County in Massachusetts. According to NOAA (2019), the F0 tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage. The tornado touched down near Flagg Drive at 7:25 pm EDT. The tornado travelled for 0.1 mile and had a maximum width of 80 yards.
