Snow chasing - South Central Kansas — Bryce Kintigh

A powerful winter storm wreaked havoc over the Central Plains, starting January 23, 2026 with snowfall ending on January 25, 2026.

I chased in and around the Wichita metro area, with snowfall starting late afternoon of January 23. Overall, about 7 inches fell in the city, with slightly higher amounts elsewhere.

Bryce has been chasing storms since 2003. Growing up on a farm in North Central Kansas, weather has always played a big role in his life. In 2018, Bryce finished his Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. His favorite weather memory would have to be seeing a large wedge tornado with a satellite tornado in 2007. When Bryce isn’t on the road chasing storms, he enjoys spending time with friends, cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats, and traveling. He hopes to visit every National Weather Service radar site in the nation, visiting over 135 thus far. Bryce is often heard on KAKE-TV, tracking storms all across Kansas and the Midwest.
