Cone tornado develops over Lake Nipissing, is caught on video as it comes ashore
The F0 tornado near North Bay, Ontario. This tornado formed over Lake Nipissing at around 7:00pm and then moved onto shore. It was witnessed by homeowners and cottagers all around the lake, and was a highly visible and photogenic tornado. Residents captured photos and videos of the tornado, a fat cone, as it churned over the lake. As it approached the shore, it became an elephant trunk tornado as it entered its rope-out stage.
This was one of nineteen tornadoes that struck Southern and Central Ontario on August 20. The others:
