Waterspout tornado spins over Lake Simcoe near Orillia, photographed by boaters
On July 26th, clusters of supercells developed along lake breezes across Southern Ontario. One of the most intense storms of the day passed north of Barrie, then moved out over Lake Simcoe, south of Orillia. It produced this waterspout that was photographed by a boater as he reportedly raced to stay ahead of the storm. Photos show a slender cone tornado with a fragmented condensation tube and spray ring at the surface.
