Figure 1 shows the surface observations at 4:00 pm CDT, which shows a low pressure system on the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border with a warm front extending south into North Dakota. The warm front became the focus for intense thunderstorms across southern Manitoba in the afternoon hours of August 24th, which ultimately led to two tornadoes on this day.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F1 tornado touched down at 7:30 pm CDT near Neepawa, MB. The track and width of the tornado was not documented by ECCC. The tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage.
