The Damaging Tornado Northwest of Mattawa (DONE needs confirmation)

Probable tornado damages houses in Redbridge, swath of trees downed near Mattawa

Although information is limited on this probable tornado, evidence gathered indicates it likely began northwest of the village of Redbridge and lifted north of Mattawa near the Ottawa River; a possible 40km track with likely some skipping in-between. Reports gathered by Environment Canada claimed a 16km swath of forest damage was observed along with houses lightly damaged in Redbridge, hydro poles downed and a section of Highway 533 closed due to debris blocking the roadway. Severe tree damage was indicated by 3-4 foot diameter pine trees snapped off. Provincial police north of Mattawa called in a funnel cloud sighting describing it as moving quickly and tilted with it’s “eye” visible.
