Area residents capture photos & videos as pretty white tornado passes near town
The August 30, 2016, EF0 tornado at New Liskeard, Ontario. This landspout tornado touched down about 20km to the north of New Liskeard and the north end of Lake Timiskaming, and was witnessed by startled residents who captured photos and video of the event. Indeed, the close proximity of the tornado to town, as well as its photogenic nature, made it particularly unique in this part of the province; rarely do images of tornadoes come out of the sparsely populated and heavily treed regions of Northern Ontario. Nevertheless, this was an incredibly picturesque tornado, a beautiful white elephant trunk that was fully condensed to the ground.
