Caught on video by local fishermen, this cone tornado passed across Bear Lake and caused damage ashore. Touching down over the lake approximately 30 kilometres to the northwest of Huntsville, the tornado moved onto land causing minor damage to trees.
There were several witnesses to the event, some of which caught photos and videos of the twister. One video, taken two fishermen from their boat on the lake, shows a shows a condensation funnel hallway to the ground, with a plume of water swirling at its base. As the tornado reached the shoreline, the funnel briefly condensed all the way to the ground, a photogenic cone tornado, as it moved off through the forest.
