Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 4:00 pm CDT, which shows a low pressure system near Morris, MB with a trough of low pressure extending across southwestern Manitoba. The interaction between the low pressure and trough became the focus for thunderstorm activity in the early afternoon hours of June 30th, which ultimately led to two tornadoes near Brandon.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F0 tornado touched down at 3:04 pm CDT in the City of Brandon, MB. The path and width of the tornado was not documented by ECCC. The tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or documented property damage.
