Christian Island, ON September 5, 2014

Barrie - Orilla - Midland


This tornado occurred at about 2:00 pm and caused minor EF0 damage after it moved onto Christian Island from Georgian Bay. The confirmation was based upon the descriptions of the event that were provided by members of the Beausoleil First Nation.

This was one of two tornadoes to touch down on September 5, 2014. The other:

Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 8:00 pm EDT, which shows a squall line (or line of thunderstorms) moving across southern Ontario. This line of thunderstorms was responsible for two tornadoes in the late afternoon and evening hours of September 5th.
