Duntroon, ON F1 Tornado of June 18, 2006

Barrie - Orillia - Midland


This narrow tornado, only 15m wide, touched down at 10:30 pm and tracked for 1.5km. A large storage shed was totally demolished, trees were snapped and had their tops shorn off, and fences were torn up. Debris was scattered over the area and ended up hanging from trees and piercing the ground. Reportedly, a novel that was in the storage shed was picked up and deposited over a kilometre away.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F1 tornado touched down at 10:30 pm near Duntroon, ON. The tornado travelled for 1.5 km with a maximum width of 20 metres. The tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage.
