Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 8:00 am EDT, which shows a cold front moving through the northeast United States. This front became the focus for thunderstorms in the early morning hours of August 2nd, which ultimately led to this tornado.

The Grounts Corner, MA F0 tornado of August 2, 1973 impacted Franklin County in Massachusetts. According to NOAA (2019), the F0 tornado caused no fatalities or injuries, but caused $250 dollars in property damage. The tornado touched down near Dry Hill Road at 11:20 pm EDT. The tornado travelled for 3.3 miles and had a maximum width of 33 yards.
