Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 8:00 am EDT, which shows a cold front moving across the northeastern United States. This front became the focus for thunderstorms across Massachusetts in the morning hours of September 6th, which ultimately led to this tornado.

The Sharon Heights, MA F1 tornado of September 6, 1973 impacted Norfolk County in Massachusetts. According to NOAA (2019), the F1 tornado caused no fatalities or injuries, but caused $25 thousand dollars in property damage. The tornado touched down near Cedar Swamp Wetlands at 1:15 pm EDT. The tornado travelled for 1.1 miles and had a maximum width of 33 yards.
