Tavistock, ON F1 Tornado of May 2, 1992

F1 damage occurred near the start of this tornado’s five kilometre track, on the Bender Farm, where the roof was torn off of a barn. The remainder of the damage was F0 and included minor damage to trees, sheds and homes. At the Tavistock Board of Trade building in town, shingles were torn from the roof and a chimney toppled onto a car.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F1 tornado touched down at 5:45 pm EDT near Tavistock, ON. The tornado travelled southeast for 5 km through Tavistock with a maximum width of 10 metres. The tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage.
