Viking, AB F2 Tornado of June 30, 1982

Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 7:00 am EST, which shows a large area of high pressure over Southern Manitoba. Local troughing and convergence on the lee-side of the Rocky Mountains triggered thunderstorms across Alberta, which resulted in a tornado outbreak.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (2018), an F2 tornado touched down 24 km north of Viking, AB. The path and width of the tornado was not documented by ECCC. No property damage was documented for this tornado.
