Willbraham, MA F1 Tornado of June 29, 1977

Figure 1 depicts the surface observations at 8:00 am EDT, which shows a cold front moving across the Great Lakes. This front became the focus for thunderstorms in the early afternoon hours of June 29th, which ultimately led to this tornado.

The Willbraham, MA F1 tornado of June 29, 1977 impacted Hampden County in Massachusetts. According to NOAA (2019), the F1 tornado caused no fatalities, injuries or property damage. The tornado touched down near Woodland Dell Road at 3:45 pm EDT. The tornado travelled for 0.1 miles and had a maximum width of 30 yards.
