Early morning surprise

July 16 started out like any other morning. Woke up, brushed my teeth and got ready to head to the office. When I opened the garage door, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The most magnificent early-morning shelf cloud was moving right toward me.

I immediately grabbed my phone to document the scene. As I normally do, I quickly posted it to Twitter, which got picked up by The Weather Channel.

The Radar image was not overly impressive…I assumed we just had a moderate rain shower coming our way. Mother Nature often surprises, but this was a surprise I won’t soon forget!
